  • Infill Thoughts

  • Thinking Ahead

  • Out Think

  • Quick Thoughts

  • Think Sheets

  • Thinking Aloud

  • Newsletters

More than just the same old news, these frequent updates provide context and analysis on the most important oilfield issues of the day. Timely yet timeless, these updates offer new angles that can’t be found anywhere else.

The focus of Thinking Ahead is the oilfield business outlook. Our data-driven analyses and trend discussions help you identify your next opportunity and optimize business outcomes. Our subject matter spans the global oilpatch.

In-depth research on hot oilfield topics. Written quarterly, the Out Think series includes segment primers, thematic explorations, and fundamental forecasts designed to help you “out think” the competition.

We don’t always break in, so when we do it’s important. Quick Thoughts email alerts provide unique perspective on the biggest breaking news, identifying implications and reading between the lines. Our focused commentary empowers you to react fast with reliable context.

Think Sheets are regularly updated spreadsheets containing original data-sets, models and analysis on upstream fundamentals (requires Analyst Plan). In addition to proprietary analysis, we also aggregate and organize public oilfield data-sets. Analysts are able to download the files in our growing library any time.

Our Thinking Aloud discussion forum unites industry thought leaders in conversation about important business issues, moderated by Joseph Triepke. Some of the industry’s brightest minds are joining Infill Thinking, and this is the place where they are talking about the trends of the day.

In addition to real-time and archived access on the website, we also ship our research exclusively to subscribers in regular email newsletters. Twice weekly, quarterly and breaking alert emails will keep you thinking with us.

.

As an Infill Thinking subscriber, you’ll receive substantial analysis of timely events, regular outlook pieces, and exclusive access to the perspective of other bona fide industry elites.

Unlike the ocean of free content out there, you won’t be subject to aggressive advertising or annoying solicitation here. We work only for subscribers, not corporate sponsors. And the analysis and stories you’ll find here are written from experience with the sole purpose of helping modern O&G professionals make better decisions.

If you depend on conventional sources for oilfield business information, then your going to love the reliable new perspective your Infill Thinking subscription delivers. You can read more about our subscriber package here or sign up below.

In The News: Infill Thinking Insight Featured In Nationwide NPR Marketplace Broadcast

Infill Thinking founder Joseph Triepke was interviewed this week by NPR’s Marketplace for a feature piece on Permian E&P growth.

The piece aired from coast to coast on Wednesday January 31, 2018. We invite you to take a listen below.

On The Road: A Very Productive Reader Networking Event In Houston

Another Infill Thinking reader meet-up is in the books, our biggest yet. On Thursday morning, Infill Thinking readers flooded into the Houston Galleria Starbucks for several hours of networking and knowledge sharing.

About 30 subscribers battled construction traffic on Post Oak Blvd. to attend. Most were local Houstonians or folks in town for the frac sand conference this Friday, but some attendees came from as far away as Fort Worth and College Station to attend the meet up.

A diverse blend of thinkers mixed and mingled including: sand mineral rights owners, sand producers, frac companies, Wall Street analysts, investors, data providers, consultants and accountants, logistics service providers, LNG solution providers, and technologists focused on solving big oilfield problems.

Conversations were wide ranging hitting on topics including:

  • in-basin sand and its future, challenges, and implications
  • drilling markets and the ongoing recovery onshore and eventual recovery offshore
  • logistics constraints and solutions
  • tight oil E&P sustainability and bottlenecks
  • the impact of tax changes on the oilfield industry
  • the outlook for commodity prices and production

Thanks so much to everyone who came out and shared their perspective at the event.

Events like this one remind us why we started Infill Thinking in the first place. Knowledge seeking and sharing in this dynamic industry we all serve is extremely rewarding, and it’s a real pleasure to interact with and learn from our plugged-in readership in person.

Unfortunately, we didn’t turn the camera on until late in the event, so if you were early we missed you in the photo opp. Here are a few candid shots (special thanks to Infill Thinking subscriber Ken Kelso of Military Express Logistics for the photography).

Next Stop: Permian Basin

Next week, we are spending the entire week in West Texas where we will go behind the gates of five in-basin mines, meet with area officials, and visit multiple oilfield service firms. We will also be traversing the territory gathering boots on the ground insights on highway traffic and mine construction progress.

We’ll be reporting from the road, so please bear with us on newsletter and update timing – send-outs may diverge from our regular programming next week.

Along the way, we’ll be hosting readers again in Odessa for a mid-week coffee break. If you’ll be in the basin, we hope to see you in Odessa next week. More details>
