On June 6, 2018, Alpine Silica confirmed both of these datapoints in this press release. Here’s a few notable points of confirmation and clarification from the release:

  • Fay (Oklahoma) mine reserves are 51mm tons, with annual production expected to exceed 3mmtpa
  • Fay plant groundbreaking expected within 30 days, construction expected to take 6 months
  • Van Horn (Culberson County) plant expected to produce 3mmtpa
  • Van Horn ground breaking expected “in coming months” with 7 months required to build
  • Operational Kermit mine is “achieving significant production improvements each month”
