The sand boom is highly visible out in West Texas. From the silos and dry plants going vertical to the long lines at transload to the boxes parked at every truck stop – frac sand is literally everywhere you look.

Oilpatch is an outdated descriptor for the industrial activity going on in the Kermit area. This is the sandpatch now.

We are spending all week out here visiting plants and facilities. We spent much of day one taking it all in from the open roads. Here are some of the sights from our journey along with notes and observations. Photo essays are still en vogue right?
