Deer Season Parallels In The Frac Sand Industry [Guest Post]

Cody Wickersheim writes: When Joseph Triepke asked me to write an article for Infill Thinking, I think it was intended to be a commentary on the impact each of us has felt over the past year and a half. We are losing some good folks. Many companies have become, or are becoming, zombie companies, simply trying to hold on until the next uptick. Some are not coming back. We all are seeing the impact on morale, the talent exodus, and the challenge this reality all places on all of us.

I was conflicted. Do I make this a “How to Navigate Difficult Times” article? Do I simply make it a dry, analytical, quantitative, observational article, regurgitating what all the other articles read? In doing so, do I risk negatively influencing my own team’s morale? Do I give motivation to my competition to rally through? A multitude of ideas have entered and left my mind. What remains is the story below. Take your own lessons from it.
